Josue Leon
Project Manager

On the Kennedy Center expansion, the concrete is the project. It required a lot of coordination because there was so much curvature, and not something that could be easily built. We needed architectural buy-in that what we were building and what we were providing was correct. And that all had to be all done prior to PERI manufacturing a single form.”

提案内容

  • Generation of a 3D planning model and creation of a PERI special-purpose formwork for the realization of the vertically and horizontally curved wall of the Skylight Pavilion
  • On-schedule supply of materials due to manufacture of the PERI special-purpose formwork at the nearby site in Elkridge, Maryland
  • Use of heavy RCS Rails to reinforce the stop-end system structure anchored to the ground to withstand the forces running in the opposite direction and the resulting twisting of the stop-end
  • Construction of a special tension-compression system (TCS) for safe load transfer of the high forces acting on the moulding boxes
  • Realisation of single curved walls using RUNDFLEX Circular Wall Formwork
  • Construction of the high, straight walls using VARIO GT 24 Girder Wall Formwork
  • Building the ceilings and underground car park ceilings using MULTIFLEX Girder Slab Formwork and SKYDECK Panelized Slab Formwork
