Circular Tank Refurbishment, Bitterfeld-Wolfen Chemical Park, Germany

The weather protection roof based on the PERI UP Flex LGS Lattice Girder System provided reliable protection against the effects of the weather. The roof segments could be pre-assembled on the ground and subsequently lifted into their final position using a mobile crane.
Walkways along the LGS truss segments ensured safe access during assembly and dismantling as well as temporary opening of the roof.
For realizing the enormous span of 36.50 m, the LGS Weather Protection Roof was securely braced.
A total of 33 polygonally arranged scaffold bays were adapted perfectly to suit the circular tank which has an internal diameter of 32 m. Bridging boards taken from the PERI UP Flex modular scaffolding system ensured safe working levels without any tripping hazards.
New construction, modernization and maintenance of structural installations are based on the requirements of existing and future production processes. Project execution is often associated with high safety demands.
The PERI scaffolding solution – weather protection roof, support and interior scaffolding – was executed freestanding without any anchoring.
