Refurbishment of GSH Bahnhofplatz 2
7.5 m bridging structure with SLS Spindle fixed to steel construction platform. The connection to the eyelet on the landing platform was carefully planned with the help of a 3D planning system. The height of the landing platform and length of the RCS Rails came together with millimetre precision.
The sandstone frescoes, which are over 100 years old, could be accessed easily for restoration purposes. Internal console brackets are fitted without the need for couplings in short, simple assembly sequences, thanks to the gravity lock ledger.
Easily recognisable yellow cover plates at the bends make it possible to walk without tripping. Internal and external guardrails mounted in advance protect users and scaffolders from fall hazards without the need for additional assembly work.
The team at Meier + Ritter AG was able to implement the design themselves using conventional 3D planning software and, thanks to BIM planning, were able to keep track of the progress of the project at all times.
Project success through digital planning: 3D laser scanning, CAD planning and BIM paved the way for detailed scaffold planning, including use of time and materials, despite the complex building geometry.
